Sydney teve diversas músicas que foram lançadas no álbum oficial dos Jogos olímpicos 2000, com cantoras como Olivia Newton-John, Vanessa Ambrosi entre outras, mas a música que acabou fazendo mais sucesso dentre todas foi da cantora australiana Tina Arena, 'The Flame'.
A Canção contava com as participações especiais da orquestra sinfônica e do coral das crianças de Sydney e a canção foi escrita por John Foreman. A canção só estourou na Austrália quando Tina cantou na cerimônia de abertura, um dos eventos de maior audiência da história da Austrália, que 'The Flame' vira um sucesso no país e em mais alguns outros da Ásia e Europa.
